If the bank account is located outside of Thailand, you have absolutely no guarantee, no recourse in the event of fraud, or any possible claim.

The request for payment from a Thai organization but on a bank account located outside Thailand should make you think.

With a bank account
in Thai Baht currency
- Indeed, accounting in Thailand is of course in Thai Baht, taxation is in Thai Baht...
- Your deposit must be legally registered and therefore engages the responsibility of your legal travel agency in Thailand.

- It is totally impossible in Thailand to open a bank account in the name of a travel agency that does not exist.
- Because it exists; it therefore has the authorization of the Thai State to receive foreigners and make them visit the country and this has already been checked by the Bank before opening the account and by the tax services of the State.

A Thai travel agency that would ask you to make a payment on a personal account rather than on the bank account of the travel agency should be absolutely avoided (this is only intended to exempt your file from taxation but therefore also of the legal protection that this represents for you).

When a Thai bank grants a travel agency the iPay system (online payment on website by credit card Visa, Mastercard...).
- This implies a verification of the tourist license and implies good relations between the travel agency and its bank and also with the company Visa and MasterCard.

- This is therefore granted only to official travel agencies and which have no overdraft problem and no dispute with their customers. You are there between organisms and between serious people.

PAYMENT SECURITY

- When you make a classic bank transfer.
- You must inform your bank about the characteristics of the bank account that will receive your money. Account number...

but also NAME of the BENEFICIARY.
(adress etc...)

- If the beneficiary account you are paying is HANSATHAI TRAVEL SERVICE ; you know to whom you have paid the deposit for your trip. It is a company account in a Thai bank therefore controlled as being that of an official legal company in Thailand.

- When you make a bank transfer via Wise; it's exactly the same thing except the fact that there is an intermediary between your bank and our bank, that this intermediary is called Wise and that the quality of his work and his bank charges are both much better and in at the same time much cheaper for small amounts than most French banks. But you must always indicate the detail of the Thai bank account and of course the NAME of the BENEFICIARY and so you know who receives the amount of your deposit and to whom you have paid the deposit for your trip (in which bank, in which country, city... with addresses that are checked by serious organizations.

- Thus, in both cases; you are sure to work officially with a legal travel agency recognized by the Thai state and possessing a legal tourism license, renewable every 2 years, verified by the bank to be able to open a company account here.

- Your travel organization is legal in the country of Thailand and this protects you 100 percent from any bad service or scam.

UNSECURED PAYMENT

- When you make a payment to PayPal you had to indicate the code of the beneficiary at PayPal because the beneficiary must have also opened an account at PayPal.

- So you do not pay at all on a bank account of a legal company in Thailand being for tax purposes the account of the company (Thai travel agency), you do not pay at all on a bank account located in Thailand but on the account opened with PayPal.
And that makes a very big difference.

- You only know the number of this account and all the other indications can be "anything" because they are not checked by anyone in reality.
And in case of problem; don't count on the Thai state to help you. You have not paid anything on the account of a Thai company verified and recognized by the Thai State.
Basically it is :

And don't count on PayPal to give you an real guarantee.

Anyone can open an account with PayPal in 3 clicks totally outside the control of the Thai state, totally outside Thai taxation and even in the name of a company that does not exist and has a person who doesn't even live in Thailand !
This has absolutely nothing to do with paying to a Thai company, in a Thai bank and all controlled by the Thai state in terms of the legality of the tourist license, tax legality...
- Basically, with PayPal you pay to... Anyone !

With Western Union it's even worse !

If you choose to pay anyone the deposit for your trip (and in this case your interlocutor knows very well that you have no recourse in the event of a dispute); you are very likely to have some disappointments as to the quality of service advertised on a pretty website or in the false opinions of false customers that flood the forums and other TripAdvisor ... and the quality of service served on site.
But in this case; do not explain on internet forums that you have been fooled by a Thai travel agency because your payment is already there; was not on the travel agency's account and therefore has no legal value !

Say rather; I got tricked because I didn't have the wisdom to follow Lionel's good advice from Hansathai.
This will have the advantage of being true and in addition to making me happy.

Because for all your other trips you will have learned and you will not be fooled and I would therefore not have tired myself for nothing to write all this with my little fingers.
